This is a speech that Ronald Reagan gave to the Young Americans for Freedom following the losses suffered in the 1974 election.  Then as now, the GOP Establishment promoted the idea of running moderate candidates to win elections.  In this speech, Reagan responds to this situation which sounds eerily similar to what is happening now.
