Wisconsin Recall Elections Update

July 13, 2011
First let me apologize for my mistake.  I wrote a previous post as if the general recall election was to be held yesterday July 12.  Actually, that was a primary involving democratic challengers.  The winners will now move on to the recall election against the republicans on August 9.  Next week, on July 19 there will be two republican primaries and a general election.  The general election has David VanderLeest (R) running against district 30 Senator Dave Hansen (D).  The primaries will feature Kim Simac (R) and Robert Lussow (R) will compete for the republican district 12 senate nomination in order to challenge State Senator Jim Holperin (D) while Jonathan Steitz and Fred Ekornaas will face off to see who goes up against State Senator Robert Wirch in district 22 in the general election on August 16.  To help sort this out take a look at the links below.

Obama Brings Out The Fear Card Again

July 13, 2011
Things have been going well in the negotiations on the debt ceiling so far.  Speaker Boehner is still saying he will not cave on tax increases despite the dire rhetoric of the democrats.  In his desperation, President Obama has now once a again dragged out the democrat scare tactics and is threatening to hold social security, military personnel and others hostage over the debt ceiling just as he did when they were negotiating the 2011 budget.  Senator McConnell has now floated a plan...

Sarah Palin: The Sugar Daddy Has Run Out of Sugar; Now We Need New Leaders

July 10, 2011
Sarah Palin via Facebook:
Barack Obama’s big government policies continue to fail. He should put a link to the national debt clock on his BlackBerry. The gears on that clock have nearly exploded during his administration. Yesterday’s terrible job numbers should not be a surprise because it all goes back to our debt. Our dangerously unsustainable debt is wiping out our jobs, crippling our economic growth, and jeopardizing our position in the global economy as the leader of the ...

There Will Be No Primary For Nevada District 2 Special Election

July 9, 2011
The court case involving the Nevada congressional district 2 special election has ended.  The Nevada Supreme Court has ruled that the political parties should choose their candidates to fill an open seat instead of having a primary.  This means that Mark Amodei will be the republican candidate on the ballot along with the democrat and other third party and independent candidates.  The special election is September 13.

Time To Contact Congress Again

July 7, 2011
President Obama and Congress are meeting today to attempt to work out a deal on the debt ceiling.  As usual the democrats are pushing for tax increases to cover all of the spending they have run up over the last few years.  Although the republicans have repeatedly said that tax increases are off the table, we have seen them cave before and we must not take the chance that they will do it again.  Contact your congressman and senator today to let them know that any vote to raise taxes ...
