In October 2011 I wrote a blog post  in which I expressed doubt that "Anybody But Obama" will be effective in actually defeating him. And so I was extremely dismayed to peruse the headlines and see this title "Conservatives Lawmakers OK With Lack Of Passion For Romney."  It has always been my opinion that Anybody But Obama was promoted by the GOP Establishment so that they could encourage support for Romney without any pesky check into his moderate policy positions. They believe that the 2012 election will be a referendum on Obama's policies and that will be enough to defeat him.  If that were true, then the President that brought us $4 a gallon gas, unemployment above 8% and the vastly unpopular Obamacare should be losing in a landslide right now. Yet, based on current polls Obama leads Romney 227 to 170 in the electoral college.  Furthermore, without voters actually being enthusiastic about the GOP nominee there will not be contributions, voter registration drives or any other grassroots activities on the level needed to defeat a President who is doing all he can to maximize turnout of the liberal voters.  If Obamacare is overturned as I expect liberals will be very very motivated to go to the polls and give Obama four more years.  We need a GOP candidate that can get voters excited to not only show up at the polls, but to do all the hard and necessary work that will be required to defeat Obama in November.  We cannot beat something with nothing. We need a candidate we can inspire us.
