Here we are in the midst of the debate over the debt limit and surprise, there are republicans in the Senate undercutting conservatives again.  Senator McConnell formed a plan to allow the debt limit to be raised without any cuts in spending at all which will not save our credit rating.  Now some GOP senators are on board with the Gang of Six plan which raises taxes while possibly gutting defense.  Yes you read that correctly.  There are GOP senators now in support of tax increases with the understanding that budget cuts will be made in the future.  Tax increases are not a good idea anyway and since the Gang of Six deal is only a framework and not a written bill, any reasonable person can assume that the promised spending cuts will never take place.  The democrats have now successfully isolated republicans in the House and pressure will be intensified on them to cave in to raising taxes while the plan passed by the House is dismissed.   In case the House republicans hold firm against raising taxes, democrats have a plan for a short term debt limit increase with no cuts in spending.  Democrats are giving House republicans a choice: raise taxes and destroy the republican party, raise the debt limit with no cuts in spending, or get tarred and feathered by President Obama and the democrats (with help from the media of course) for whatever happens without an increase in the debt limit.  Republicans have been outmaneuvered again and are allowing democrats and the liberal media to set the terms of this debate.  This will keep happening as long as they have no strategy for dealing with the democrats.  Please contact House members and encourage them not to give in.
